ESPACE VINCOTTE After a first investment made in 2000, the Vinçotte Group has just quite recently confirmed its will to consolidate its Walloon rootedness by complementing its facilities on the Crealys Science Park. The new extension to our building on the Crealys site now confers its characteristic ellipsoidal shape. Our regional siting has been finalised at last, with 5100 m² of buildings on 1.6 hectares of land as the materialisation of an investment plan of € 7.5 million, which was started when the first stone was laid in March 2000. The Espace Vinçotte is ready! Ideally positioned at the intersection of two main motorway networks of Wallonia (E42/E411), the Espace Vinçotte offers a host capacity for 10 to 200 persons with, more particularly, a vast agora with mezzanine, two modular auditoriums (35 to 200 persons according to the layout), three training and meeting rooms (10 to 25 persons), a large car park, carefully prepared catering and, of course, the latest multimedia facilities. This new location has also enhanced the company’s profile. The multitude and the diversity of the companies that are already located on the site or that are currently setting up business heighten the value and the interest of this showcase. The availability and the professionalism of the many services of the Economic Office of the Province are not alien either to the initial choice or to the readiness to continue the investment. As such, the Espace Vinçotte is an excellent example of synergy since the auditoriums inaugurated on 30 May 2006 are also available to all the stakeholders and companies of Crealys Park. The development of services and the available resources now offered on the Park through the non-profit-making organisation IDEALYS asbl further strengthen the attractiveness of the location to personnel already amply satisfied with working in this technological vector placed in its wonderful green setting. Our location within the Science Park naturally led us to play an active part in the creation and management of the ASBL IDEALYS. In actual fact, like every SME, we were faced with a number of problems and we are aware that every new SME is destined to do likewise. The sharing of experiences among companies on the Park through IDEALYS remains an excellent opportunity that we will continue to implement. Furthermore, Coris and its staff are involved in social activities and the fact that IDEALYS is a structure intended, among other things, to collect funds for this purpose further strengthens our involvement in this area. Lastly, and more pragmatically, we regularly welcome foreign trainees who are delighted to be able to use the shuttle enabling them to travel from Namur to the Park every day. Lastly, IDEALYS makes it possible for both the company and the staff to live our professional activities within the structure of the Crealys Park in a better way. For most of the companies present in the Park, whose industrial activities are science based, it is an extraordinary opportunity as far as potential cooperation and partnerships are concerned whether in R&D or production. Aseptic Technologies, which develops and markets aseptic handling equipment, collaborates in this way with entities of both institutions whether in the field of chemical physics or electronic microscopy or even in the development of rigorous quality consistency tests. Let us also emphasise the activity of the Steering Committee, which is composed of representatives of the companies, university institutions together with the local authorities. It is able to propose initiatives regarding Park organisation both from the logistic and social point of view, or even participate in the development of the new infrastructures. The ongoing concern of this Committee is to stimulate the real spirit of cooperation between the different nearby university departments. This considerable asset should make it possible to facilitate the development and/ or the completion of new products and technologies, essential for the economic progress of the region. Since it was founded, it has tried to locate to the Namur area close to the major road networks since the company’s activity requires a lot of travelling in the Walloon Region and in the Brussels-Capital Region. After searching among business centres, the Crealys Science Park proved to be the ideal spot for the development of its operations. In addition to its location, Crealys enjoys an excellent reputation and its technological orientations are appropriate to our company’s activities. From the time we submitted our application to locate to the Park, we learned that a branch of the Business Department of the BEP (Economic Office of the Province of Namur) was established on the site and that, in addition to site management, it proposed a multitude of services for companies. AVEA Consulting was able to take advantage of its support and, in particular, its personalised assistance for the development of the company. A first business plan, the search for financial partners, the search for subsidies … are so many stages that were successfully overcome through the support from the BEP team present on the site. At the present time, the company is further continuing its partnership to face the new challenges of its growth.
